Donkey Kong Country series

Donkey Kong Country is a series of games that consists of a trilogy developed by Rare for Super NES and a followup by Retro Studios for Wii. The series marked a revitalization of the Donkey Kong franchise, which had diminished since first appearing in arcades in 1981. It also marked a complete redesign and re-branding of the titular ape, Donkey Kong, who now hid his shame with a monogrammed necktie.

Nintendo Australia pulls marketing stunt for Donkey Kong Country Returns

Donkey Kong Country Returns was released on the Nintendo Wii yesterday in Australia. Nintendo pulled a marketing stunt in Sydney by placing a huge pile of bananas labelled "Kong's Banana Hoard" in the middle of Circular Quay.
