Cruise Chaser BLASSTY

A RPG for NEC PC-8801, NEC PC-9801 & Sharp X1 by Square

Cruise Chaser BLASSTY box art

Square's third ever developed title (their fifth published) seems reminiscent of the Famicom title Thexder, except BLASSTY is by far a better name for a transforming mecha-gunship. It was released on several computer platforms: NEC PC-8801, NEC PC-9801, and Sharp X1.

In 1987 the story was serialized in Hobby Japan magazine, and later republished as a set of three novels from 1990-1992.
