Jet Force Gemini (known as Star Twins in Japan) saw gamers take up the role of galactic heroes Juno, Vela and Lupas (the cybernetic enhanced dog); the members of Jet Force Gemini uncover a plot by the evil Mizar to enslave a local race of tribals. The game takes the player to a variety of planets to do battle with Mizar's army and wield a variety of weapons to do so including a rocket launcher that fires three separate rockets at once and shuriken. Also present is a number of multiplayer game modes including death-match, survival and even a racing mode.
Rare's trademark humour was present in JFG, including an in-game cheat that changes all standard drones with Mr. Pants models, a character that has you find his missing pants and a another one that you give a 'specialist magazine' to after he advises he wants something to 'distract him from being lonely'.
