King Dedede and his nasty cronies have stolen all the food from Dream Land as well as the Sparkling Stars preventing anyone to find any other food to eat. It is up to hero Kirby to reclaim the food and stars, as well as teach King Dedede a lesson! The hero travels through grasslands, a castle, islands and even up in the clouds before he is finally able to arrive at Mt. Dedede. Kirby has the ability to fly as well as swallow enemies on his adventure as well as consume spicy curry to blow fire.

Kirby's first outing went on to sell over 5.1 million copies worldwide1 and began a commercially successful game series, the Kirby series with nearly 20 games to its name.
