Upon the launch of its Gamecube hardware, Nintendo chose for the first time to withhold Mario from the lineup. Instead, Luigi made his first full-scale title debut in Luigi's Mansion, an action-adventure title that features the oft-sidelined Super Mario Brother busting ghosts and searching for his lost Bro.
A sequel, Luigi's Mansion 2, was announced for Nintendo 3DS handheld system at E3 2011.
