Tetris Attack

A Puzzle game for Super NES and Game Boy by Nintendo in the Puzzle League and Tetris series

Tetris Attack box art

Tetris Attack builds upon the blocks-falling-into-pits formula brilliantly alchemized by Alexey Pajitnov in the original Tetris, though the similarities end there. It was first conceived in Japan as Panel de Pon, then rebranded for overseas release with the characters, settings, and lush color pallet of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, somewhat reminiscent of how Doki Doki Panic was rebranded under the moniker of the Mario series and exported as Super Mario Bros. 2.
