You are Lee Everett, a convicted criminal who has been given a second chance at life in a world devastated by the undead. Experience events, meet people and visit locations that foreshadow the story of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic book series.
The Walking Dead: The Game is an episodic point-and-click adventure from Telltale Games. The game consists of five episodes, released between April and November 2012, and takes place in the same fictional setting as the comic, with events occurring during the same chronological period shortly after the onset of a zombie apocalypse in the state of Georgia. Most of the characters are new creations for the game, centering on university professor Lee Everett who helps to rescue and care for the young girl Clementine as they work with other survivors to make their way to safety. Kirkman provided oversight of the game's story to assure it fit well with the theme of the comic, but allowed Telltale to handle the bulk of the game development and story writing.
The story is affected by choices and actions the player makes as a result of quick time events, such as certain characters being killed or an adverse change in the disposition of other characters towards the protagonist. These choices carry over the five-episode game.
On July 6, 2012, Telltale announced that a second season will follow the initial five-episode series.
