Born in Yokohama, Japan in 1974, Masaru "Go" Shiina unsuccesfully attempted to gain employment in a number of different industries including food, banking and apparel before being employed by Namco Bandai1.
After working on a number of collaborations and projects, Shiina broke out with his work on Tales of Legendia, in which he had to find his own sound rather than copy previous work by Motoi Sakuraba. He has produced work for a number of projects since, most notably contributing to Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Tekken 6, Echoes of War – The Music of Blizzard Entertainment and God Eater.
Shiina appeared at Eminence's A Night in Fantasia 2007: Symphonic Games Edition concert in Sydney and Melbourne in Australia as a guest composer.
