Metal Gear producer Hideo Kojima is the standard go-to when discussing game creators who practice a film-like auteur approach to game design, and ten years after its launch Metal Gear Solid 2 remains his most decidedly auteurist turn. Woman Wins Pregnancy Discrimination Case Against Konami

In 2009 Yoko Sekiguichi was entitled to six months maternity leave to have a baby. When she returned to work at Konami she found she'd been demoted and had a ¥200,000 pay cut forced on her. Konami reasoned this was due to the "burden" placed on them.

Official Zelda Series Timeline Released

Official Zelda Series Timeline

Nintendo released a book to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series titled 'Hyrule Historia'. The book contains artwork, designs, and information. It also contains the hotly debated timeline of the series - except this time it's 100% official. In the early 2000s Nintendo of America released this timeline - complete with a warning that this was only their interpretation and the actual timeline remains open to debate. The book is currently available in Japanese only however a fan translation has begun. The above image is a translated version of the official timeline provided in the book.
