Major classical label to release Nobuo Uematsu piano album

BlogSquare Enix Music Online has revealed that pianist Benyamin Nuss will be releasing a piano album of Nobuo Uematsu's work on major label Universal Music (Deutsche Grammophon/DECCA).

Nuss is working with supervisor Thomas Boecker, the man who produced the world's first video game concert outside Japan in early 2003. This generous and passionate man (I say this as I have spoken to him before) has since produced many concerts and albums including drammatica The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura and Vielen Dank Masashi Hamauzu.

Shiro Hamaguchi has also been working on this album, along with Jonne Valtonen and a number of respected individuals from a variety of locations and backgrounds.

Most exciting is this point:

The composer’s latest RPG scores will also feature, alongside a surprising tribute to one of his first composition works. While the majority of the arrangements are dedicated to specific pieces, listeners should also expect three expansive suites, dedicated to Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and, of course, Final Fantasy VII.

Does this mean we'll hear something from the Alpha Soundtrack or the Cruise Chaser BLASSTY Original Soundtrack? Only time will tell.

I'm very interested in this album, it has a variety of people pouring work into it and I can't wait to see the results.
