Agni's Philosophy -- FINAL FANTASY REALTIME TECH DEMO

While there are no new Final Fantasy games shown at this year's E3, Square Enix did reveal a trailer called "Agni's Philosophy" that demonstrates the Luminous Studio engine, next-gen tech that can, according to a press release1, "depict high quality 'real time computer graphics' at the same level as 'pre-rendered computer graphics'. The fine details of the characters, who express life-like humanity, are showcased through their rich facial expressions, subtleties of their pupils and hair, and their brilliantly flowing garments."

Notes

  1. This is what Final Fantasy might look like on next-gen tech (Joystiq)

  1. I think for me the most interesting part of that trailer was noticing a very distinct western influence - then finding out Crystal Dynamics and a Canadian composer were involved. The potential for Eidos studios to create something with Square Enix is most interesting. Can't say the trailer itself (if it was for a real game) was super exciting, but the fusion of Iranian vocals with western art and Japanese direction is something I'm sure Square Enix are hoping can change the Japanese RPG.

Either that or they just did it without any of that in mind. :)
