In Akumajou Dracula X: Rondo for Blood for the PC Engine, there's a hidden staircase right before you fight the final boss. Once you walk up the steps to Dracula's chamber, you just have to jump around, hold up, and eventually you'll latch onto the invisible steps, carrying you to a secret room filled with cash. I've known about this for years and years, but what I didn't know was that this is actually a reference to a glitch from the Famicom Disk System version of Akumajou Dracula, the first Castlevania game.
Spanning over 25 games and creating a unique history spanning hundreds of years, Castlevania remains one of the most popular game franchises of all time. Putting players in the shoes of one of the Belmont Clan, players traverse through Gothic arenas populated by ghouls, ghosts and demons to rid the world of Dracula. Though the series has had many revamps over multiple gaming platforms during the 20 years since its creation, the Gothic motifs, catchy music and whip-wielding combat have made the series keep players coming back for more.
